Last night was the Private-view of the exhibition ‘Elixir’, at The Octagon Theatre, Yeovil. Great to see a range of work from 15 artists, working in a variety of media, that make up Yeovil Creatives. The exhibition is open Mon – Sat 12 noon to 5pm, and runs until 26th July.

Only a week to go…..
Only a week to go until the beginning of Somerset Arts Week 2017. The Artist Book I have been commissioned to make through a Creative Pathways Bursary will be on show at the ‘Amazing Space II: Spirit of Place’ Exhibition at Dove Studios, Butleigh ( Venue 21)
Somerset Art Works Creative Pathways Bursary.
I am thrilled to have been selected for the Somerset Art Work’s Creative Pathway Bursary which is a commission to make an artist book that will be shown during Somerset Arts Week 2017 (23 September – 8 October) as part of the ‘Amazing Space II: Spirit of Place’ Project, at Dove Studios, Butleigh.
The book will reflect some aspect of the creative and environmentally sensitive nature of the environment in and around Dove Studios, which includes a permaculture garden, a wildflower meadow reserve, a Land in Common re-wilding project, and the Dove and Greenhill with their print-making and pottery studios, along with other sustainable living projects.
Making an artist book in relation to my practice is something I have previously considered, so it is great to have this opportunity to explore this possibility and the prospect of developing new skills, whilst being mentored by experienced artist/facilitator Bronwen Bradshaw.
The book will become part of a collection by other commissioned artists that will be housed in The Tree-house Library, currently under construction.
I shall record my development on my blog – beingwithwillow.
Shortlisted for National Drawing Prize.
A friend spotted this cutting in a local newspaper the other day about my drawing being shortlisted for The Jerwood Drawing Prize exhibition 2016. I’m looking forward to going up to London next week for the Private View on the 13th September when the prizes will be announced. The exhibition starts on the 14th September at The Jerwood Space, London.
Only a month to go!
It stuck me today that there is only a month to go until the first day of my exhibition. Preparations are going well and this week I placed an order for some cards that will be available to purchase there.
Still in the studio
As preparations for my exhibition are coming together, I have continued to work in my studio making some new pieces of work that I hope to include.
